Our COVID-19 Taskforce has settled the rules that apply to all these gatherings. The rules will change over time, but as of now they are as follows:
 
  1. Everyone in the building aged three and up is required to mask at all times. Masks must be properly fitted and cover both the mouth and the nose.
  2. Attendees at events and services who cannot mask correctly will be asked to leave the building. We are asking congregants to monitor their own masking and to gently assist others who have difficulty keeping their masks on.
  3. If you are not feeling well in any way, you must not enter the synagogue. All services are available on both Zoom and livestream, so you will never be excluded from worship.
  4. If you travel out of state, get tested upon your return, and do not enter the synagogue building until your test comes back negative.
As Ohavi Zedek Synagogue ("OZ") proceeds to reopen to in-person activities, it intends on implementing every required safeguard to ensure the safety of all participants. COVID-19, however, presents inherent risks of transmission and infection that cannot be eliminated, even with safeguards, whenever people come together. By signing this agreement, I acknowledge OZ cannot guarantee I will not become infected as a result of my participation in OZ activities. I understand the contagious nature of COVID-19, and acknowledge exposure to or infection by COVID-19 from participation in OZ activities may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and/or others, including, but not limited to, OZ employees, volunteers, and other activity participants. I understand exposure to or infection by COVID-19 may result in personal injury or death, and I voluntarily assume the risk of being exposed to or infected by COVID-19 through attendance at OZ activities. If I or anyone I have been in close contact with shows signs or symptoms of COVID-19, or has tested positive for COVID-19, I will not attend OZ activities until medically cleared to do so. 

In consideration for participating in OZ activities, I hereby release and discharge OZ, and any and all of its clergy, officers, board members, directors, managers, agents or employees (together, the "Releasees") from all liability, claims of negligence or warranty, damages, losses, or harms suffered by me because of or in any way arising from, connected with, or related to my participation in OZ activities, even if caused by the negligence of the "Releasees," and I agree not to sue any of them for any such liability. I will indemnify and hold the Releasees harmless in the event of a claim made on behalf of me, including for the Releasees’ own negligence.
